The Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has posed with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy as the squad has started their journey back home on July 3, Wednesday from Barbados. India won the final against South Africa in the final at the Kensington Oval by 7 runs on July 29, Saturday. Rohit masterminded the win as India went unbeaten in the tournament and the India skipper emerged as the second-highest run-getter.
Since winning the final, the Indian team has been stranded in Barbados due to the threat from Hurricane Beryl. The team was forced to stay indoors for the last few days as BCCI organised a chartered plane to get the players back home. The flight would land in Barbados on July 3 and the players were seen boarding it to start their trip back home. Rohit has now posted an image from the flight on his Instagram with Suryakumar Yadav also posing next to him.
"Coming home," wrote Rohit on Instagram.
