Kalpana Anandakumar

submitted her

resignation

letter to corporation commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran on Wednesday.
In her letter, Kalpana cited her health condition and family situation as the reasons for her resignation.
"We received the resignation letter, and it will be placed before the corporation council soon," said an official with the Coimbatore Corporation.

Kalpana became

mayor

following the 2022 local body election and is the councillor for Ward No 19. Recently, she was embroiled in several controversies, including allegations of corruption against her and her husband.
