Coast Guard Raising Day: Six ships to be illuminated

CHENNAI: The
Indian Coast Guard
will illuminate six
ships
that will be positioned close to
Marina Beach
and Elliot’s Beach at sunset on Jan 31 and Feb 1 as part of the 48th Raising Day. There will also be formation manoeuvres by ships and flypast by Coast Guard helicopters. Six ships of different classes and two helicopters will participate in the event. Coast Guard personnel would also be demonstrating search and rescue (SAR) of a survivor at sea very close to the shore for people to see from the beach, said a press release.
