JAIPUR: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed health department officials to be on high alert for the new variant of COVID-19 and to ensure the availability of medicines and other equipment necessary for its treatment.
In a review meeting with health officials on Saturday, he told them to ensure complete arrangements to deal with the new variant of COVID, including an adequate quantity of oxygen beds in hospitals.

, informed the medical department that it is cautious of the new variant of COVID-19, Type 1, which was recently found in the country.
"The
state COVID management committee
has been formed for the proper management and prevention of COVID-19. 79 RTPCR lab facilities are available in the state for testing COVID-19. Genome sequencing facilities are also available in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Kota," said Bagrahatta.
Sharma reminded the health officials that it is the responsibility of the state government to provide high-level medical facilities to every citizen of the state promptly.
He asked officials to make it a point that the common people are treated with complete sensitivity and medical workers discharge their duties responsibly.
