MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A club promoter is headed to prison after he was convicted of raping two college students in his car back in 2021, authorities said Tuesday.

Christopher Macias, 35, was sentenced to 18 years to life in prison for violently attacking the women in separate incidents in September 2021, prosecutors said. Macias was convicted of rape and sexual assault after a jury trial in November 2023.

In the first incident, Macias raped a college freshman he took out to dinner by pretending it was a business meeting, officials said. Macias pulled over on the FDR Drive and attacked her in his car at around 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2021.

About two weeks later, Macias raped a woman twice in his car near the intersection of Washington Square North and MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village at around 5 a.m., according to court documents. The defendant and the victim worked together at the club. The woman suffered ear and arm injuries.

"Christopher Macias abused his power as a supervisor to assault two survivors, scarring them with trauma that they face to this day. While we cannot erase what happened, I hope there is some sense of closure knowing Christopher Macias is being held accountable for the brutal crimes he committed,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.
