NEW YORK (PIX11) – A new bill would require the NYPD to place social workers in all police precincts.
The goal is to assist the NYPD with mental health emergencies, bringing the unique skill set of social work right to where it’s needed most.
One of the City Council members who supports the legislation, Erik Bottcher (District 3), joined PIX on Politics to talk about the bill and how it could help communities.
