NEW YORK (PIX11) -- While families are on summer vacation, the New York City Council is looking for ways to ensure there are enough early education seats for the upcoming school year.
The city has invested $100 million to open more pre-k and 3-k seats, but leaders of the City Council say the issue extends beyond funding.
"We have vacancies and folks saying we can’t get a seat. Instead of continuing to throw funding, we’ve got to fix the system, and we’ve created a workforce to fix the system," said New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams.
