Child arrested in shooting death of teenager in Brooklyn: NYPD

BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A 12-year-old was arrested related to the shooting death of a teenager at a Brownsville NYCHA development Sunday, according to the NYPD. 

Police could not share any additional information about the 12-year-old’s charges or arrest.

The 14-year-old was found inside Brownsville’s Howard Houses on Osborn Street around 10:25 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said Sunday. He was rushed to an area hospital but could not be saved, according to the NYPD. 

Police have not yet released the identity of the teenager killed. 

Elsewhere in New York City, a bystander was shot on an Upper East Side subway in the early hours of Sunday, police said. The 31-year-old was unintentionally shot in the hand by a shooter who missed his intended target, police said.
