In an exclusive chat, Cheshta, who has been part of shows like

Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum

and Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara, revealed, “I did not talk about my personal life earlier.

But after I participated in Temptation Island India, I decided to open up about it. I participated in the show with Arjun, who I have known for 11 years. Our relationship was full of ups and downs. Despite all the negative things that happened between us, we decided to patch up and get back together. I thought things would get better eventually. However, when I met Nikhil Mehta, a deejay, on the show, I got to know him better and realised what was missing in my life all these years. That is when I decided to break up with Arjun and move on.”
The actress is currently in a long-distance relationship with Nikhil. She added, “We are still figuring things out. Long-distance relationships are never easy. Slowly and gradually, we will see if we can go ahead and build a future together. As far as Arjun is concerned, our relationship is over. I get trolled about how it took me just a few weeks to end an 11-year relationship and get into another one so quickly. But I needed to steer away from a toxic relationship. I feel a lot of peace with Nikhil, which I never felt with Arjun in all those years.”
On the professional front, Cheshta wants to focus on reality shows for the moment. She said, “I feel people enjoy watching non-fiction shows more now and I want to participate in them. Of course, acting is my first love and if there is a good offer, I will always take it up.”
