NEW YORK (PIX11) -- It's officially cherry blossom season in New York City with dozens of trees already in bloom.
Cherry blossom trackers from the New York Botanical Garden and the Central Park Conservancy show that some areas are ready for your springtime photoshoots.
At the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, many early-season cherries have begun flowering. Visitors can enjoy the fluffy, rosy petals of the Okame trees in the garden's South Cherry Valley.
Over at Central Park in Manhattan, visitors can stroll down the cherry trail on the west side of the Reservoir. Okames are fully in bloom as well as Kanzan cherry trees, which are known for their vibrant pink double petals.
For those visiting the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the white cherry trees known as Fudan-zakura and the pale-pink Jugatsu-zakura trees have already begun blooming along the garden's Cherry Walk and Japanese Hill-and-Pond areas.
