BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A free carnival was held in Brooklyn for thousands of children on Wednesday.
A partnership between NYU and JPMorgan Chase made the event happen. The Martin Luther Playground in Sunset Park was converted into a sea of resources and hope.
JPMorganChase and NYU Langone Family Health Centers distributed backpacks and school supplies to 2,800 kids through a carnival for the community.
JPMorganChase donated $25,000 to purchase backpacks and supplies, and employees at the corporate center volunteered to stuff the backpacks with supplies. They even wrote personal notes of inspiration.
Dozens of booths were set up to give out support such as housing information and free medical screenings.
