‘Bhai’ – a term used by Indians as an expression of friendship and, of course, for Bollywood actor Salman Khan. But the country seems to have got another ‘Bhai’ in Nothing CEO

Carl Pei

. Soon after Pei replied with ‘

Bhaichara

’ comment on X (formerly Twitter), the word started to trend with several people in the tech industry, including the folks at

Flipkart

, jumping on the ‘Bhai’ trend.

First, it was Pei himself who changed his name on X to ‘Carl Bhai’. Then, Flipkart joined and announced that it is changing the name of the ‘buy now’ button on the platform to ‘Bhai Now’ button.
“Brb, adding a Bhai Now button.” Flipkart said.

Notably, the UK-based company confirmed that the

Nothing Phone

(2a) phone will be sold via Flipkart in India. Flipkart now has a dedicated microsite on its website, teasing the arrival of the

Nothing Phone 2a

smartphone. Nothing Phone 2a will launch on March 5 at the “fresh eyes” event.

Pei asked Tesla CEO Elon Musk to change his name to “Elon Bhai” on the X to build a Tesla factory in India.

“@elonmusk did you really think you could build a Tesla factory in India without changing your username to Elon Bhai?,” he posted. Musk has yet to respond to the question. Reports have suggested that Tesla will soon enter India and the government is finalising a policy to extend concessional import duties on EVs, which may help Musk's company in India.
Apart from that, Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas also changed his name to ‘Aravind Bhai’. Both the CEOs exchanged a business-centric funny conversation on X.
“Carl Bhai, kab hamara partnership?,” Aravind asked, to which, Pei replied, “Only if you change your name to Aravind Bhai 😂”

Aravind changed the name to ‘Aravind bhai’ and said, “Partnership official now!”. Pei replied, “🤝 Aravind BhAI” (note the AI in bhai)

Recently, Pei also confirmed that the Nothing phones will get AI features “but not the dumb ones that you can get from just downloading an app.”
