The sister of an Uber driver who almost lost his life in a frightening encounter with a passenger with a gun spoke with PIX11 News on Saturday.
"Thank God he’s alive. That’s all that really matters,” the sister of the Uber driver said.
The Uber driver reported to police that a passenger entered his vehicle in the vicinity of Skyler Avenue and Route Seven in North Arlington and appeared to be agitated, the sister said. According to the driver, the passenger expressed that his girlfriend had thrown him out of her house.
As the rider continued, the Uber driver said he heard the passenger putting bullets into his gun before firing one shot that just missed the driver’s head, the driver's sister told PIX11.
“I don’t know if he intentionally was trying to shoot my brother, but he missed him just by three or 4 centimeters," the driver's sister said.
The driver then jumped out of the vehicle which the suspect drove away with, according to the sister.
Authorities are continuing the investigate the details surrounding the incident.
