Buddhist temple robbed at gunpoint in Brooklyn: police

FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A Buddhist temple in Brooklyn was robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon, police said.

The robbery happened at Watt Samakki-Dhammikaram at 26 Rugby Road in Flatbush just before 2:30 p.m., according to the NYPD. A trio of robbers forced their way inside and stole money and possessions, police said.

There were four people inside the Buddhist temple at the time of the robbery, according to the NYPD. None of them were injured, police said.

The three robbers were all males, according to police. Additional suspect information wasn’t immediately available.
