Jin
will be the first member of the septet to be discharged from military duty. He had enlisted for the mandatory training in December 2022 and will complete his duty on June 12. Recent buzz suggested that all the members of the boy band will reunite to mark this occasion.
Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had reportedly applied for vacation to reunite for Jin's
military discharge
day.
However, there has been no official word about the same. Their agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, refused to divulge any details and an official told Star News, "It is difficult to confirm the
reunion
plans". According to Koreaboo, despite their ongoing military services, all members will reunite in Seoul for a private celebration. Initially, the plan was reportedly to meet Jin in front of the military unit, but this was deemed unsafe due to the members' concerns for their safety. Jin will also not have an official ceremony for his discharge for safety reasons.
After enlisting as an active-duty soldier on December 13, 2023, Jin is due to be discharged on the 12th. Upon his return, Jin will host a solo fan event as part of the 11th anniversary celebration —BTS Festa 2024 in Seoul's Songpa Gu on the 13th. The event, spanning 3 hours, will include a special Greeting session featuring a light hug with Jin upon request. Jin is also expected to release a solo album later this year.
After Jin, BTS member J-Hope is expected to be discharged from duty. His mandatory training will reportedly end in October this year.
