CHENNAI: Bengaluru-based Brigade Group will develop the tallest skyscraper on Anna Salai on a piece of land that earlier housed some of the TVS group companies. At 150 metres, the
residential
tower will have G+38 floors, offering about six lakh sqft and will be the first largescale residential development on this section of the arterial road.
The
project
also includes a100-metre-high commercial tower which will have G+18 floors to house retail and commercial space.
The project entails an overall development of one million sq ft at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore and is expected to be completed by 2030.
Announcing the launch of Brigade Icon Residences project here on Wednesday, Pavitra Shankar, managing director,
Brigade Enterprises
, told reporters that the residential tower will have 200 housing units.
‘Will take six years to complete project’
Pavitra Shankar said, “We have received the approval from
RERA
. It will take about six years to complete the project.” While the size of an unit will range from 2,700 sqft to 5,500 sqft, the project will have 3-5 bhk apartments. The prices of the housing units are likely to be announced by the end of June.
Nirupa Shankar, joint managing director, Brigade Enterprises, said, the office space tower will have about one lakh sqft of retail space. The company’s executive director Pradyumna Krishnakumar said construction has commenced at the site.
“We are looking at accommodating high-end retail stores on three floors of the office and retail space tower,” he told TOI.
Overall, the company has planned a collective investment of more than Rs 8,000 crore by 2030 in Chennai in residential, office, retail and hospitality projects spread over 15 million sq ft. Out of this, the residential segment alone will comprise 12 million sq ft. It is also developing two hotels including a resort at Uthandi on ECR.
