Brazen burglar smashes into Brooklyn store with hammer: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Investigators are looking for a group of suspects after one of them smashed into a Brooklyn convenience store and stole merchandise on Saturday.

The incident occurred at LoveJoy Convenience located on Atlantic Avenue at around 6:36 a.m., according to the NYPD.

One suspect smashed the front glass door of the store with a hammer, allowing another suspect to steal an unknown amount of merchandise, authorities report. Two men acted as lookouts while the other suspects burglarized the store.

The group then fled the scene heading westbound on Atlantic Avenue toward Hicks Street, authorities said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
