NEW YORK (PIX11) –  After getting into an argument with two teenage females with gang ties, two boys were shot multiple times inside a Bronx Mc Donlads Saturday, according to the NYPD.

Police responded to a call of shots fired just before 10 p.m. Two males, a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old, were found shot at the location, police say.

According to authorities, the shooting was sparked when the two boys entered a McDonald's on White Plains Road. They crossed paths with two teenage females and got into a verbal argument. One of the females was on the phone at the time, police said.

A time later, as the boys were sitting in the back of the eatery, a man wearing a black hoodie with pink writing walked to the back where the boys were seated and asked what happened. He then shot two victims, police said.

The 13-year-old was shot twice in the lower left leg, and the 12-year-old was shot in the back on the buttocks and two times in the lower left leg. Both boys were treated at Jacobi Medical Center. They are both expected to recover from their gunshot wounds, police say.

Witnesses say that the shooter arrived at the McDonald's with a total of eight other men. The two teenage girls, who were outside of the McDonald's at the time of the shooting, are believed to have some connection to the shooter. The police said that the two females, one 15 and the other 16, had fled the scene.

One of the female teenagers has been identified, but her identity has not been released due to her age.

Police say surveillance footage obtained shows the gunman fleeing toward Olinville after the shooting.

Investigators say ballistics match a shooting that took place in the Gunhill houses a month earlier.

The two victims were not associated with any gang, police said.
