Boy, 8, hit and killed by car while riding bike in New Jersey: prosecutors

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (PIX11) – An 8-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car on Tuesday in Parsippany, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

A 2022 Mazda CX5 driving on Littleton Road around 5:30 p.m. struck the child, who was believed to be on a bicycle at the time, according to authorities.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, prosecutors said.

An investigation into the crash is underway, according to prosecutors.
