Boy, 8, fatally hit by school bus in Rockland County: police

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. (PIX11) -- An 8-year-old boy was fatally hit by a school bus in Rockland County Monday evening, according to police.

Around 6 p.m., the Ramapo Police got a call that a child was hit by a school bus in front of 100 Clinton Avenue in New Square. Lt. Blaine Howel with the Ramapo Police Department told PIX11 News that officers were told by paramedics that the boy died.

The accident happened next to a school. Police said the bus driver remained at the scene of the crash and is working with police. The accident remains under investigation by Ramapo’s accident reconstruction team.
