BELMONT, The Bronx (PIX11) – A 5-year-old boy who died suddenly in a Bronx home on Sunday possibly had methadone in his system, according to the NYPD.
Deneil Timberlake was found unconscious inside a home on Bassford Avenue in Belmont. The boy's father called 911 and Timberlake was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital before his death, according to authorities.
Timberlake did not have any obvious signs of trauma, per police. Sources told PIX11 News that the home Timberlake lived in was messy and that other children lived there.
The family has a history with the Administration for Children's Services.
The boy's father has not been charged with a crime. An investigation into Timberlake's death is ongoing.
