Boy, 13, accused of burglarizing LI bike shop multiple times: NCPD

MERRICK, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 13-year-old boy was accused of burglarizing a bike shop on Long Island multiple times, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

The teenager allegedly attempted to break into Merrick Bicycles in Merrick around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday. He fled the scene before he got into the store, according to authorities.

Police officers were able to find the teenager and, after investigating, were able to connect him to two other burglaries at the same shop, according to authorities. The burglaries happened on Aug. 13 and Aug. 16.

He was arrested without incident and charged with burglary, attempted burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.

He's expected in family court on Aug. 21.
