Bill introduced in Congress seeks to send arrested protesters to Gaza

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A new bill proposed by Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives would send protesters convicted of illegal activity on college campuses to Gaza for six months of community service.

It was introduced last week by Republican leaders from Tennessee and Texas. Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles, who introduced the bill, was under fire back in February after telling pro-Palestinian protesters "I think we should kill them all," according to reporting from Al Jazeera.

Ogles later said that the comments were directed at Hamas, not Palestinians, according to reporting from The Tennessean.

The bill will likely not pass in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Another bill proposed by lawmakers would revoke the visas of protesters arrested on college campuses who are not citizens of the U.S.
