Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to give job letters to 25k new teachers

PATNA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar will distribute appointment letters among 25,000 candidates, who cleared the second phase of Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE). Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) conducted the examination and declared results between December 22 and 27 for recruitment of teachers in the government schools.

The appointment letters will be distributed at a function to be held in Patna Gandhi Maidan on January 13.

The appointment letters were distributed after the first phase of TRE on November 2 last year. Simultaneous evets will also be held in all districts where over one lakh teachers will receive their provisional appointment letters, including 2,772 selected after the supplementary results of the first phase of TRE.

At the main function in Gandhi Maidan, the CM, along with several cabinet ministers, including his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, will hand over the appointment letters to the teachers. The district events will be attended by the respective ministers in charge, along with the divisional commissioners.
Meanwhile, additional chief secretary of the education department, K K Pathak, has written to the district officials, asking them to make arrangements for the transportation of teachers from their respective places to Gandhi Maidan. Around 640 buses will be used to bring the 25,000 teachers from 29 districts to the Patna venue. They will include 2,500 teachers who have been posted in Patna itself.

Special traffic arrangements will be made by the district administration to accommodate the buses. Separate seating arrangements will be made for the successful candidates coming from other districts.
Pathak, in his letter, has asked the district officials to make sure that the buses run as a convoy and reach Gandhi Maidan together. "To avoid any problems along the way, a police escort and magistrate should accompany the convoy. An ambulance should also be arranged for each convoy," the letter reads.
Pathak has asked the district officials to arrange a large venues and connect to the main function in Patna through videoconferencing.
At present, counselling of the successful candidates is going on, and the last date is January 8. After the counselling, the teachers are being sent for training in their respective districts.
