Amitabh Bachchan on KBC set
In the new episode of beloved game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, the actor recalled a light anecdote featuring himself and director-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Speaking to special guest Vikrant Massey, Big B shared that he was scoled for arriving a mere ten minutes late on set.
“If you are talking about being punctual, (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) scolds you. Once I was working with him and we finished late at night. Before leaving he said we have to come 6 am on set the next day. I was like it’s crazy, we finished at 3 am, so how can we come at 6 am? I came 10 minutes late, and he scolded me in front of the entire unit. He said, ‘you are late by 10 mins’,” the actor shared.
Vikrant, who was there to promote his upcoming release, Sabarmati Report, shared another anecdote to highlight Chopra's dedication to craft, “When we were making music for 12th Fail, only 4 instruments were used in the background. For 4-5 months, he was after Shantanu Moitra, who did the music, saying, the sitar is not sounding right. From Bengal and every other place where sitar was available, the instruments were brought. Even then it wasn’t sounding right. He then told Shantanu to source a sitar which RD Burman used to play. Then he sourced the sitar from the 1960s. And finally it was locked, because the reverberations matched with the wood that was used to make the sitar back then. That’s how dedicated he is.”
Vikrant Massey and Vidhu Vinod Chopra worked together on the acclaimed release, 12th Fail.
Meanwhile, KBC 16 airs every weekday at 9 pm on Sony TV.
