'Bhalo, Paaji?': Suryakumar Yadav looks back at playing under Gautam Gambhir for Kolkata Knight Riders - Watch

NEW DELHI: Suryakumar Yadav started his IPL career with the

Kolkata Knight Riders

(KKR) and was a part of the

KKR

squad from 2012 to 2017.
During his stint with KKR, he was mostly used as a lower-order batsman and gained attention for his innovative shots, particularly his scoop shots and his ability to play impactful cameos.

And now SKY is set to lead India in the five-match

T20I series

against England with the first match scheduled for Wednesday at

Eden Gardens

On the eve on the first T20I, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) shared a video on their official X handle in which Suryakumar Yadav looks back at his journey at the Eden Gardens and how it was playing for KKR under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir, who is now the head coach of the Indian cricket team.

The video has SKY saying that he learnt a little bit of Bengali language and greets Arshdeep Singh with "Bhalo, Paaji?" and the India seamer also responds by saying "Bhalo".

Suryakumar also shared his fondness for 'mishti doi', a traditional Bengali dessert of thickened, sweetened, and fermented yogurt.
The video has SKY saying that when he started playing for KKR, he had never thought that ten years down the line, he would lead India one day, adding that it's a nice feeling to be the captain of the national side.

SKY adds that he has learnt a lot from Gambhir while under him for KKR and signed off by saying that he is very happy to be back at the historic ground.
