With the explosion of digital transactions,
cyber security
and prevention of
cyber crimes
has become an urgent need of the hour. Stressing on the need for customer awareness,
Jimmy Tata
the Chief Credit Officer of HDFC Bank has said that cyber threats should not be allowed to derail the progress made from the boom of digital transactions.
According to Jimmy Tata, India has seen an explosion of digital transactions, which in turn has created various opportunities. However, the same technology that has helped the society prosper, has also helped unscrupulous individuals derail this progress, Jimmy Tata noted in his opening address at the
HDFC Bank Cyber Security Summit
organized in collaboration with TOI in Delhi.
Jimmy Tata spoke of the need for better coordination between banks and the technology providers and also said that customer awareness is paramount.
He vehemently believes that India cannot allow the progress made in the digital landscape to be derailed. Jimmy Tata advocates for individuals and institutions to be alert and not fall prey to scams. He also advised people not to believe those who are making unrealistic promises, or even those who are threatening people - these are common ploys to get people to lose money.
