Team India all-rounder

Hardik Pandya

took to social media on Thursday to share a glimpse of his rigorous batting practice, marking his return to training following recovery from an ankle injury suffered during the ODI World Cup late last year.
In a video uploaded on his Instagram profile, Pandya showcased his trademark shots. The caption accompanying Pandya's post read: "Back at it."

The ankle injury forced Hardik out of several series, including the T20Is against Australia and the tour to South Africa, where Suryakumar Yadav took charge as T2oI captain in Hardik's absence.

However, the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) holds promise for Pandya as he gears up to lead the Mumbai Indians (MI), taking over the reins from Rohit Sharma, the five-time IPL trophy-winning skipper.
Last November, Pandya made a return to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans (GT) as part of a franchise trade. His impactful stint with GT, especially during their debut season in 2022 when they clinched the title, marked a significant chapter in his career.

Rohit, however, will lead India in the upcoming ICC

T20 World Cup

, aiming to break India's ICC trophy drought. BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed Rohit's captaincy for the tournament, expressing confidence in India's ability to secure the coveted trophy after over a decade.
Shah made this announcement ahead of the third Test between India and England.
"We may have lost the final of World Cup 2023. But we won the hearts of everyone by winning 10 matches in a row. I am confident that India will lift the 2024 T20 World Cup under Rohit Sharma's captaincy at Barbados," said the BCCI secretary.
Shah attributed Rohit's return to T20Is to Hardik's injury sustained during the ODI World Cup. "In T20s, Hardik will be the captain for certain [in the future]," said Shah at Rajkot as quoted by ESPNCricinfo to the media.
