NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- An infant was mauled to death by a family dog in New Jersey early Saturday morning, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident happened at around 6:17 a.m., in a home located on Mereline Avenue, the prosecutor's office said. Officers discovered an unresponsive baby with serious injuries after being attacked by the family dog.
The mother was also seriously injured by the dog, and the baby was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The mother and father were rushed to a hospital for treatment, officials said.
