ROG Academy Season 9
in India. The program is aimed at nurturing emerging talent and fostering excellence in the
gaming community
.
With a focus on
CS2
, Season 9 promises an experience for participants, featuring top-of-the-line gaming infrastructure, mentorship and guest sessions from industry veterans, empowering gaming enthusiasts to take the next step in their journey to become pro gamers.
The registrations for the ninth season commence on February 4. Aspiring gamers aged 16 or above can participate by visiting the https://asus.in/ROG-academy/.
For this season, ROG Academy will continue its partnership with Saharyar "BaDMaN" Shaikh as the official coach. With a distinguished 10-year career as a CS:GO In-Game Leader (IGL), Shaikh has influenced the competitive gaming landscape.
ROG Academy Season 9 will also uphold the tradition of hosting distinguished guests. In the prior season, the Academy welcomed former RRQ analyst Lukas “yb” Gröning and The Asian CS Expert, Sudhen “Bleh” Wahengbam. These professionals shared invaluable insights and guidance, motivating participants to take the next step to achieve excellence.
ROG Academy's past seasons achieved resounding success with over 13,000 registrations. Notably, 48 players transitioned to the professional level, and 12 players currently are excelling in Tier 1 and Tier 2 organisations by participating in national and international esports tournaments. Standout alumni from season 8, Seek and Arakyn, secured placements in Grayfox Esports.
Asus ROG Academy season 9: Curriculum and duration
This season, the curriculum is designed in partnership with AFK Gaming. The shortlisted team and players will go through an extensive selection process divided into different phases.
This will culminate in 6 select players becoming part of a 6-month long program designed to familiarise the players with the various aspects of gameplay at eminent levels to master the techniques of teamwork, communication, analysing the opponents, tracking improvement, weapon selection and skill sets, map breakdown, execute and more.
The exercises, schedule, and entire program will be specifically designed keeping in mind the title and the existing skillsets of the players who will be a part of it.
Asus ROG Academy season 9: Rewards and training outcome:
The ninth Season of the ROG Academy will witness “CS2” as the official title as the company continues its journey to discover India's most talented players.
The panellists will consist of a representative from Asus ROG and experienced coach. The players will receive monetary compensation of Rs 15,000 as a stipend on monthly basis during the training.
Along with this, the players will be equipped with the latest ROG gears including ROG laptop, monitor, headphones, keyboard, etc. for training purposes.
Asus ROG Academy season 9: How to Apply
Aspiring gamers and gaming enthusiasts aged 16 and above can participate in the program and register themselves on the https://asus.in/ROG-academy/ starting February 4 . Gamers aged between 16 to 18 need to provide a consent letter from their parents to participate in the academy.
During the registration process, applicants will answer some key questions on the online form that will help Asus determine the type of player they are.
Asus ROG Academy season 9: Selection Process
- Application test: All the applicants first must fill out a form, which will gauge their understanding of the game, what role they played and what their behaviour is like as a player.
- Theory test: Here, Asus will test situational awareness and decision-making by putting the players on the spot in a tough situation.
- Range test: In this round, the players will be tested for their shooting skills by giving multiple challenges. Asus will put the range bots on hard mode and ask the players to get as high of a score as possible.
- Scrims: Lastly, Asus will monitor their gameplay, listen to their communication, and figure out who's the best fit for which role.
