LENOX HILL, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Go up, up, and away to an immersive world made of balloons.
New York City’s newest pop-up, Balloon Story, is transforming the Park Avenue Armory into a balloon-filled art exhibition. The first-of-its-kind event features sculptures and installations made up of more than 600 balloons designed by 200 artists.
Visitors can wander through the exhibition from now until Aug. 24. Tickets, which start at $26 for kids, are available for purchase online.
Balloon Story’s creative producer, Erica Domesek, calls the project a “dream come true,” saying the exhibition is “a celebration of art and imagination.”
Organizers endeavored to be environmentally friendly by using natural rubber for the inflatable installations. Visitors can navigate a balloon maze, climb through a jungle ball pit, and marvel at blow-up recreations of iconic monuments from around the globe.
