Here's everything you need to know about Matt Hardy's views on their comeback
Matt Hardy returned to TNA at the Rebellion pay-per-view after his AEW contract expired, and he has been featured on TNA television since. Similarly, Jeff Hardy made his return to TNA at Against All Odds. With both Hardys back in the company, Matt Hardy has now commented on the possibility of the duo having one last run in WWE.
In an interview on Busted Open Radio, Matt Hardy shared his hopes for a successful stint in TNA Wrestling, followed by a brief return to WWE with Jeff Hardy before their eventual induction into the Hall of Fame. He said,
"I would like to do TNA and have a hell of a run there, and then I almost feel like now, just the destiny has revealed itself in many ways, I almost feel Jeff and I, we end up returning to WWE, do something small and then go onto the Hall of Fame. That's a best-case scenario."
When asked what it would take for WWE to trust Jeff Hardy again, Matt Hardy emphasized Jeff's commitment to rebuilding trust by returning to TNA and demonstrating his growth and reliability. Matt also mentioned the collaboration between TNA and WWE, highlighting Jeff's aim to showcase his transformation through a successful tenure at TNA.
Regarding Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy said, "That's a great question. I think Jeff really wanted to come back to TNA to continue to build equity, and he knows that TNA and WWE are working together. I have friends in WWE, I have spoken with people in WWE. So I think Jeff just wants to once again show people how he is a different human being. The way to put equity into that is to go to TNA, have a kickass run, and show people he's on his best behavior."
The return of The Hardy Boyz to WWE also makes sense given the ongoing relationship between WWE and TNA. This partnership could eventually lead to TNA superstars, including the Hardy Boyz, appearing in WWE. Recently, fans saw the first evidence of this relationship during WWE NXT. Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance in the number one contender battle royal match for the NXT Championship.
However, Hendry was quickly eliminated by fellow TNA star Frankie Kazarian. The match also featured WWE main roster stars Dragon Lee, Angel, Berto, Apollo Crews, and Tyler Bate. Je'Von Evans emerged victorious in the battle royal, last eliminating Shawn Spears. WWE announced that Evans would face NXT Champion Trick Williams at NXT Heatwave.
