Applications for NYC affordable housing building to close soon

EAST HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) – Applications will soon close for an affordable housing building in New York City that offers one-bedroom apartments for as low as $1,090 a month.

The Smile, an affordable housing building located at 158 East 126th St. in East Harlem, has studio apartments, one-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom apartments.

The building offers studio apartments starting as low as $1,056 a month. A single person making between $38,066 and $65,220 would qualify. A couple making between $38,066 and $74,580 would qualify.

One-bedroom apartments start as low as $1,090 a month. A single person making between $39,532 and $65,220 would qualify. A couple making between $39,532 and $74,580 would qualify.

Two-bedroom apartments start as low as $1,359 a month. A couple making between $49,483 and $74,580 would qualify. A household of three people making between $49,483 and $83,880 would qualify.

Some of the building's amenities include in-unit washers and dryers, a spa, and a rooftop terrace, according to its listing.

Tenants are responsible for electricity, including electric heating.

The property is listed on the NYC Housing Connect website, an online portal where people can find and apply for affordable housing opportunities in New York City.

Applications for The Smile will remain open until Feb. 28. The eligible income range is $38,066-$218,010.
