Apple Stores gearing up for Vision Pro launch in February

It’s almost time; the preparations for the

Vision Pro

are in full swing, as Apple’s first-ever headset is expected to hit the shelves next month. And

Apple

could have a big announcement coming as soon as this week.
In the latest edition of his newsletter, Power On, Mark

Gurman

of Bloomberg suggests that the launch of Vision Pro is as imminent as next month, and the

Apple Stores

have started preparing for the upcoming launch.

The headset is already being shipped to warehouses across the United States, before distribution to

Apple retail stores

. Even though the shipment is said to be in “small quantities,” Gurman suggests that Apple will have enough supply by the end of January for the planned launch by February.
Apple retail employees from across the US are attending secret training sessions in Cupertino for a new product, believed to be the Vision Pro. They will learn how to sell the device and assist customers. Gurman further notes that a rare three-hour meeting is scheduled for all employees on January 21, and additional training sessions are planned.

Apple plans to ‘steal the show’ from the biggest tech show of the year
Gurman has further suggested that Apple might try to steal the limelight from the biggest tech show of the year, i.e., CES, with an announcement of its Vision Pro. Although Apple does not usually participate in CES, Gurman supposes that there could be an announcement about Apple's advanced AR/VR headset in the next week or so, ahead of its release in February. “I’d expect a Vision Pro related announcement sometime this upcoming week,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The Vision Pro, which will cost $3499 or more (depending on the accessories the customer picks), will only be available in the United States at launch. However, Apple has assured that the device will be released in other countries “later in 2024,” and Gurman believes that the latter will not be much later. According to Gurman, China, Canada, and the UK are considered the next markets for the Vision Pro launch.
