Here's the Big prediction for
Apple
for the year 2024. According to
Deepwater
Asset Management, Apple would acquire
Peloton
in 2024. The acquisition is part of the 13 predictions that the company made for the year 2023.
Minneapolis-based investment company Deepwater Asset Management predicts that in 2024 Apple will acquire Peloton, the company headed by former tech analyst Gene Munster.
Incidentally, this is not the first time that someone has predicted Apple buying Peloton. What is different is that even though analysts consistently predict this acquisition, the key difference with Deepwater Asset Management is that last year, 8.5/10 predictions from Deepwater were accurately predicted.
Here's the exact prediction from DeepWater:
"Apple will look to bolster their workout segment in 2024 by adding fitness equipment to compliment the Watch and fitness tracking software. Peloton has a loyal subscriber base of about 3 million users that will add about $1.7B to Apple’s subscription revenue, additionally this fits well into Apple’s continued investment in health and wellness."
Why Apple should buy Peloton
In 2022, analysts at Wedbush cited several different reasons for why Apple may be considering, or should be considering, an acquisition of Peloton. In a note to investors, analyst Daniel Ives wrote: “On the offensive front, Apple through its Fitness+ subscription service and Apple Watch strategy would be able to leverage the Peloton services and flywheel to significantly bulk up its healthcare initiatives which have been a key strategic linchpin for Cook.”
