LIVINGSTON, N.J. (PIX11) -- Athletes and stars partook in the annual Kool Kids Foundation golf outing to raise money to support education and schools and for children who cannot afford their own instruments.
The Kool Kids Foundation is currently headed by Robert “Kool” Bell, co-founder and leader of Grammy legends Kool & the Gang.
Among those in attendance was New York City rapper Ja Rule, who emphasized the importance of instruments in a child's life.
"I was one of those kids that grew up that didn't have the instruments or resources to make music," said rapper Ja Rule. "Hip-hop was a form of music that was a little bit easier to make since you didn't need so many instruments. Instruments are very important for kids to have."
