Ranbir Kapoor

starrer ‘Animal’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga released on December 1 and the film has unexpectedly smashed the box office! The film not only had a great opening but has continued to perform exceptionally well at the box office, despite its fair share of criticism. The movie has left the internet divided and garnered some really negative comments which no film has got, yet, the numbers say otherwise.
Uptil its third Friday, the total collection of ‘Animal’ in all languages was Rs 485 crore net.

Now on day 16, which is its third Saturday, the film managed to make Rs 13 crore in India in all languages. That takes the film’s all-language total at the domestic market to Rs 498 crore. Which means that with the Sunday numbers in, it will easily cross the Rs 500 mark. The third Friday and Saturday trend of the movie was much better than ‘

Jawan

’ and ‘Gadar’ and one expects the Sunday numbers to be just as good as the Saturday.
While ‘Animal’ is sure to cross Rs 500, it has time to make the most till ‘Dunki’ releases on December 21 followed by ‘Salaar’ on December 22. Once these two biggies release, the screens given to ‘Animal’ will also reduce and of course the popularity as well. It’s already a battle between ‘Dunki’ and ‘Salaar’ for grab screens, especially at the single-screen theatres. Hence, the lifetime collection of ‘Animal’ will largely depend on the response that these two new releases get over the next weekend.
So, up till Thursday, ‘Animal’ still has enough time to roar. Meanwhile, the advance bookings for ‘Dunki’ has already begun.
