NEW DELHI: A stellar performance from Kolkata Knight Riders, featuring impressive spells by Mitchell Starc and
Andre Russell
alongside a commanding half-century by Venkatesh Iyer, propelled the Purple and Gold brigade to their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title on Sunday.
KKR convincingly defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in a one-sided summit clash at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Opting to field first, Kolkata Knight Riders capitalised on their bowlers' superb display to dismiss Sunrisers for a meager 113 runs.
KKR chased down the target in just 10.3 overs.
The jubilant scenes unfolded as KKR celebrated their third title triumph.
Following their victory, Russell was spotted grooving with Bollywood actress
Ananya Panday
to the tunes of the Bollywood track 'Lutt Putt Gaya' from the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer movie 'Dunki'.

Finishing atop the group stage of the 10-team league, KKR continued their dominance by defeating SRH in the first qualifier on Tuesday and carrying that momentum into the final, which concluded in a mere 29 overs.
In a symbolic gesture of appreciation, KKR players lifted their mentor
Gautam Gambhir
on their shoulders to celebrate the victory.
This marked Gambhir's inaugural stint as a mentor with KKR, having previously led the team to titles in 2012 and 2014 as captain.
