Bollywood megastar
Amitabh Bachchan
shared a humorous anecdote about his time on the sets of the highly anticipated
sci-fi film
'
Kalki 2898 AD
.'
In a video released by the film's team, Bachchan revealed that he was intimidated by co-star Prabhas' sister, who is one of the assistant directors on the film. Bachchan recounted the moment when
Prabhas
introduced her on the sets, and mentioned how she would domineer over him during their childhood.
"I was scared of her because one day, we were shooting and Prabhas introduced her saying, 'She’s my sister. When we were young, she used to boss me.' After that, I told her, ‘Mere ko mat maarna,’" Bachchan shared, drawing laughter from the audience.
Bachchan also spoke highly of
director Nag Ashwin
's vision for the film and revealed that during their first meeting, the director just presented him with a picture of his character Ashwatthama. He recalled, "When Nagi came to talk to me about this, he just brought a picture, a visual of what my character is going to look like and what Prabhas is going to look like. And I was this huge guy who’s shoving off 'THE' Prabhas. And to all the fans of Prabhas, please, you know, please excuse me. Main haath jod ke maafi maang rahe hai, don’t massacre me after you see what I do."
At a recent press conference in Mumbai, Bachchan further expressed his amazement at the concept of 'Kalki 2898 AD.' "When Nag Ashwin came and explained his idea to me, for a long time after he left, I was thinking, ‘What the hell is Nagi drinking?’" he joked, leaving co-stars Rana and others in splits.
'Kalki 2898 AD' is slated for release on June 27, 2024, and fans eagerly await the film that promises a unique blend of star power and visionary storytelling.
