NEW YORK (PIX11) – If you have a car in New York City, you won't have to move it on Thursday, according to the Department of Transportation.
Alternate Side Parking will be suspended as crews prepare and clean the roads during an ice storm set to hit the tri-state area. A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain could start coming down before 4 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The Department of Sanitation will start salting the roads on Wednesday ahead of the storm, Mayor Eric Adams said. New York City could see up to 1.5 inches of snow and 0.01 inches of ice accumulation, the NWS said.
You will still have to pay at parking meters across the city, the DOT said.
