Allu Arjun's much-awaited sequel, 'Pushpa: The Rule', which was scheduled to release on August 15, has been postponed, according to reports. It is said that director Sukumar is still not done with the film's shooting and the subsequent post-production work. Now, new films in Tamil and Hindi film industries are eyeing the August 15 spot. The makers of 'Pushpa: The Rule' are yet to make an official statement regarding the latest rumours about the postponement.
On June 12, social media was abuzz with rumours about 'Pushpa 2' being postponed by a few months. Reports suggest that there is still a month of shooting left and Sukumar aims to complete it by July. While the official announcement is still awaited, it looks like the decision has been conveyed to distributors in trade circles.
Since 'Pushpa 2' was arriving on August 15, many films across different industries opted for another release date to avoid direct collision with the Allu Arjun-starrer.
On June 12, trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on his X (formerly Twitter) account, mentioned that Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' will now arrive in theatres on August 15.

Earlier, 'Khel Khel Mein' was scheduled for a grand release on September 6. Their decision to advance the release date also adds fuel to the rumours about 'Pushpa 2' postponement.
Not just 'Khel Khel Mein', John Abraham's 'Vedaa' will also release on August 15.
Similarly, Chiyaan Vikram's 'Thangalaan', directed by Pa Ranjith, might capitalise on the current situation. The actor shared a photo of himself from 'Thangalaan', with the caption, "Exciting times!! #Thangalaan (sic)." This hints at the makers finalising the release date.

Director Sukumar and Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa: The Rule' is a sequel to the film, 'Pushpa: The Rise'. It released in theatres in December 2021 and set the box office on fire. Also starring Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, the film has been in the making for over a year now.
