Allu Arjun’s ‘
Pushpa 2: The Rule
’ premiere at
Sandhya Theatre
, Hyderabad, turned into a heartbreaking event two weeks ago when a chaotic crowd caused a stampede, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving her young son critically injured. The tragedy has led to legal proceedings against lead actor Allu Arjun and the theatre’s management for their alleged failure to inform authorities about the star’s visit.
The actor's arrest recently stirred the internet, and now his father, producer Allu Aravind, has visited the young victim,
Sri Tej
, who remains hospitalised in critical condition. After meeting the boy and consulting with his doctors, Aravind shared a video with the media to provide an update on the child’s health.
“The boy has been recovering slowly over the past 10 days, but it might take longer. We are ready to support him in any way we can to help him recover. I am thankful that the government has also stepped forward to assist him in returning to normalcy,” he said.

Aravind addressed growing questions about why Allu has not yet visited the child or the grieving family. He explained that Arjun initially intended to visit them immediately after the incident but was advised against doing so for safety reasons. “He wanted to visit them the day after the stampede; however, the hospital authorities asked him to delay the visit for safety reasons. It’s the same day a case was filed against him,” he clarified.
Aravind further added that Arjun’s legal team, led by Niranjan Reddy, also recommended postponing the visit to avoid legal complications. With official permission, Aravind visited the injured boy on Arjun's behalf, expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the police, and hospital authorities for their cooperation.
The incident occurred on December 4, when Allu visited Sandhya Theatre for the screening of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. Fans eager to catch a glimpse of the star formed a massive crowd, leading to a stampede-like situation that left one woman dead and several others injured. The Chikkadapally Police registered a case against the ‘Pushpa’ actor and the theatre management for failing to inform law enforcement of his visit, which might have enabled better crowd control measures.
On December 13, Arjun was arrested and spent the night at Chanchalguda Central Jail. Although a court ordered a 14-day judicial remand, the
Telangana High Court
subsequently granted him interim bail for four weeks. After his release, Arjun publicly expressed sorrow for the tragedy, calling it a deeply upsetting incident.
