LUCKNOW: UP MLAs across party lines will be visiting the Ayodhya’s Ram temple on February 11, UP assembly speaker Satish

Mahana

announced on the floor of the

House

on Tuesday.
“It is an open invitation to all MLAs from CM Yogi Adityanath and myself,” Mahana said.
Sources in SP &

RLD

, however, said the MLAs will discuss the invite with the party brass which will have the final say on it.

The development comes five days after opposition leaders (including

Samajwadi Party

and RLD), during an all-party meeting, agreed to visit the temple where the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony was conducted in the presence of PM Narendra Modi on January 22. Earlier, the state cabinet had planned to visit the temple. But the decision was postponed following the heavy influx of devotees to the shrine.

CM Yogi, too, had urged the opposition leaders to visit the temple which attained the global spotlight even as the BJP sought to sharpen the poll spotlight on Ayodhya in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaker Mahana said that opposition leaders, including senior SP leader Shivpal Yadav, had given a statement that he would visit the temple if invited.
The speaker told the assembly that all MLAs, including him, will travel by bus to Ayodhya at 8 am on February 11. They will reach Ayodhya by 11.30 am and head straight to Hanumangarhi temple. The MLAs will then visit Ram temple and remain there till around 2 pm. The MLAs are scheduled to embark on the return journey by 3 pm.
