Airtel takes on Jio with these new ‘wireless broadband’ plans that come with free OTT, TV channels and more

Airtel

has introduced two new plans for its

wireless broadband

service -- Xstream AirFiber. The new plans are priced at Rs 699 and Rs 999. These two plans are now available alongside the existing Rs 799 plan.
For those unaware, Airtel Xstream is a Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution that relies on the company’s 5G network to offer high-speed internet connectivity to customers.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber Rs 699 plan: Details
The new Rs 699 plan is now the cheapest AirFiber plan available. This is a monthly plan and is available for rental of 6 or 12 months for new customers. As far as benefits are concerned, the plan comes with 40Mbps speed with a 1000GB data cap as per Fair Usages Policy (FUP). Post this, the speed with be reduced to 2Mbps with unlimited data.

Moreover, the plan also offers a free 4K Android TV-powered Set-top box with 350 live

TV channels

and Airtel Xstream and Disney+ Hotstar subscription. The plan can also be clubbed with Airtel Black plans.
Airtel Xstream AirFiber Rs 999 plan: Details
The Rs 999 per month plan is now the most expensive plan and it is available with 6-months or 12-months rental for new customers.
The plan comes with 100Mbps speed with 1000GB of high-speed data as per the Fair Usages Policy (FUP). Post this, the speed with be reduced to 2Mbps with unlimited data.

It also comes with Airtel Xstream and Disney+ Hotstar subscription along with Airtel Android TV Box and 350 live TV channels. It can also be paired with the Airtel Black plan.
Take in Reliance Jio AirFiber
Airtel launched the Xstream AirFiber with just one Rs 799 plan which comes with 100Mbps speed, 1000GB data as per FUP and Airtel Xstream access. There were no additional

OTT

benefits or live TV channels included with it.
On the other hand, Reliance Jio launched the AirFiber service with multiple plans and includes additional benefits like OTT, free live channels and access to Jio apps and services.
