NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) -- A plane headed to Newark Liberty International Airport from Nova Scotia, Canada, received a threat midflight on Monday, according to officials.
Air Canada flight 8657 took off around 11 a.m. from Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada. Officials said a threat came in around noon, merely 10 minutes before the plane was set to land at Newark. According to flight records, the plane landed around 1:40 p.m. without issues, and all of the passengers were able to leave the plane without any injuries reported.
The Port Authority Police Department and its canine unit cleared the plane around 3 p.m. before it was released to continue normal operations, officials said.
Officials said the incident is currently under investigation.
