AYODHYA: Himachal Pradesh PWD Minister,
Vikramaditya Singh
, despite the
Congress
party's denial of the invitation, attended the
Pran Pratishtha
ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla in
Ayodhya
. He joined the grand event at the Ram Mandir, becoming the only Congress leader to do so. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh had declared a half-day for all state government workers in honor of the occasion.
The Congress party had declined the invitation, referring to it as a "BJP/RSS event." Senior Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, respectfully declined the invitation, citing the political nature of the temple inauguration and its timing for electoral gains.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the other hand, actively participated in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the newly-built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir earlier in the day. Expressing his emotions, PM Modi tweeted, "The divine moment of Pran Prathishta of Shri Ram Lala in Ayodhya Dham is an emotional moment for everyone. It is my good fortune to be part of this unique programme. Jai Siyaram."
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are also present at the ceremony, which is being held at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Over 8,000 guests have been invited to witness this grand event.
The newly-built temple, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, stands with a length of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet. It is supported by 392 pillars and features 44 doors. The intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses adorn the temple's pillars and walls. Inside the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the idol of Shri Ramlalla, depicting the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram, has been placed.
The temple's main entrance is situated on the eastern side, accessible by ascending 32 stairs through the Singh Dwar. The Mandir consists of five halls - Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap. In the vicinity of the temple, there is a historic well, known as Sita Koop, which dates back to ancient times. Additionally, the ancient temple of Bhagwan Shiv at Kuber Tila has been restored, along with the installation of a statue of Jatayu.
