BJP MP and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday said he fears the officials of the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation could face attacks in Bihar similar to the one that happened in West Bengal on Friday. The BJP MP alleged that the probe agency officials would be attacked by supporters of the RJD.

He added that making an SOS call to the army was being considered over the attack on the ED officials.

The ED on Friday alleged that its officials were attacked by a mob of nearly a thousand people while they were on their way to conduct raids on a Trinamool Congress leader's residence in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas.

In an interview with India Today TV, Sushil Modi said similar circumstances were observed when former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was to be arrested for his involvement in the fodder scam.

He also advised Lalu Yadav and his son Tejashwi to face ED officials with point-to-point answers. They have been implicated in the land-for-jobs scam.

Sushil Modi also slammed the RJD over the land-for-job scam and alleged that the father-son duo made poor job aspirants pay them with land plots. The RJD leaders will have to provide their responses and cooperate with the ensuing enquiry, he added.

Meanwhile, the RJD accused the BJP of conspiring the Bengal attack and predicted a “similar BJP-planned” attack on officials of probe agencies with the aim of tarnishing the state government’s reputation.

RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari described the attack on ED officials as a "reaction to action" and said the BJP is making "evil designs" to polarise voters through brutal acts.
