Speaking to reporters at Nellore on Thursday, Anam said that an internal enquiry by the endowments department has established the involvement of suspended assistant commissioner K Shanti and former govt advocate Subhash Reddy in numerous land scams at Visakhapatnam.

He elaborated that many government and endowment lands in Visakhapatnam were alienated at free-will with the help of Shanti and Subhash by Vijayasai Reddy in the last three years.
“We have received information that Subhash and Shanti played a key role in the revenue scams carried out by Vijayasai Reddy in Visakhapatnam. There are also allegations that they have leased out some endowments’ lands for 99 years”, the minister said and clarified that a comprehensive report on these irregularities is being prepared will be submitted to the govt for further action very shortly.
Clarifying that Shanti was suspended only after her role in these scams were established beyond any doubt, Anam accused the previous govt of shielding her all along as she had close ties with the Rajya Sabha MP.
