death anniversary

of Venerable Agnelo de Souza will be celebrated at Pilar on Nov 20. The novena will be held from Nov 11 to 19.
Devotees are praying for the beatification of de Souza, whose canonisation process is ongoing in Rome.
Auxiliary bishop of Goa and Daman, Simiao Fernandes, will celebrate the special inaugural mass at 8am on Nov 11, while bishop of Baroda, Fr Sebastiao Mascarenhas, will celebrate the feast Mass on Nov 20 at 9.30am.

The timings for the novena Masses are 5.30am, 6.45am, 8am, 9.15am, 10.30am, 4pm, 5.15pm, and an English Mass at 6.15pm.

Tamil and Malayalam Masses will be celebrated on Nov 17 at 11.30am in the pandal and at the mission seminary chapel respectively, while a Hindi Mass will be celebrated in the pandal on the same day at 12.30pm.

As in the past, the flow of vehicular traffic will be one way. All vehicles will enter the Pilar hillock from the Neura road and exit through the regular Pilar hillock road. Shuttle services will be available at the foot of the Pilar hillock for those commuting by bus. Parking arrangements have been made behind the Pilar seminary.
De Souza was born at Anjuna on Jan 21, 1869, to Miguel and Simphorosa, a devout Catholic couple. He preached at missions and retreats in most of the churches in Goa. He died on Nov 20, 1927.
