MUMBAI: With nearly $554 billion,
LIC
has moved up in the
rankings
of
insurers
in terms of
non-bank
assets. Despite depreciation of the rupee, it is ranked 12th as compared to the 13th position it held a year ago in a global list compiled by rating agency AM Best. In terms of net premiums written, LIC maintained its 16th position. According to the list released on Monday, LIC's net premiums rose by 11% to $58 billion.
The top companies in terms of non-banking
assets
are Allianz ($1 trillion) and Ping An ($960 billion).
